TOWN OF ROME: Lake Camelot Hydro Budget/Nutrient Load

Purpose

The Town of Rome proposes to contract with the Army Corps of Engineers to conduct a limnological assessment of Arrowhead, Camelot, and Sherwood Lakes (Tri-Lakes Region, 14 Mile Creek Watershed), with federal costsharing to cover approximately 40% of total project costs. Major project elements to include: 1) Flow monitoring to establish hydrological budget, 2) Water, aquatic plant and sediment sampling to assess nutrient loading, 3) Groundwater inflow-outflow study, 4) Toxics monitoring, and 5) development of a Comprehensive Management Plan. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided both written and electronic copies of the reports generated. Results of the studies will be disseminated to the public through newsletters, fact sheets, public meetings, local newspaper articles and broad public distribution of the Comprehensive Management Plan.
