The Bear Lake planning grant addresses three primary concerns: water quality--how clean is the water and is it changing plants in the lake--changes were being seen by residents as a sign of possible problems the opinions of the residents and landowners--what they see, and what they would like to see
Grant Awarded
USGS will conduct water quality monitoring. Lake district volunteers to record lake levels and precipitation and take secchi disk readings.Conduct a macrophyte survey. Delineate watershed boundaries on topographical map. Delineate problem and sensitive areas. Make management recommendations for problem areas.Conduct public opinion survey of lake property owners. Disseminate project information to the public by public meetings, local newpaper articles, newsletter mailings, and radio spots.
