WEST WISCONSIN LAND TRUST: WWLT-Undeveloped Lakeshore Assessment

Purpose

West Wisconsin Land Trust proposes to establish strategic conservation areas around targeted lakes in counties within the Lake Supior Partnership priority area (Burnett, Chippewa, Douglas and Washburn counties) and to acquire at least four properties identified through this process. Major elements to include: 1) GIS and color mapping identifying priority parcels, 2) Identification of strategic conservation areas within the four counties, 3) Development of an information packet for landowners, 4) Landowner identification and contacts, 5) Land or easement acquisitions. Information on the project will be shared with the public via news releases, public service announcements and news articles or reports. The DNR will be provided both a paper and an electronic .pdf copy of a final report.
