BIG BASS LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB. DISTRICT: Big Bass Lake and Watershed Assessment

Purpose

The Big Bass Lake Protection & Rehabilitation District proposes to begin a holistic study of Big Bass Lake. Major project elements to include: 1) development of a watershed map, 2) conduct secchi disc survey, 3) sediment sampling, characterization and mapping, 4) water quality sampling and analysis, 4) well water sampling and analysis from residences around the lake, and 5) development and distribution of a final report. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided both paper and electronic copies of the final report. Project results will be shared with the public through newsletter mailings and public meetings, and through development of a Comprehensive Management Plan to be made available through the Marathon Co. Public Library.
