BIG BUTTERNUT LAKE PROTECT. & REHAB DISTRICT: Big Butternut, Feasibility Plan for Wet Detension Basin

Purpose

The Big Butternut Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District will to conduct a feasibility study and plan design project for a wet detention basin in the watershed of Big Butternut Lake in Polk County. Project activities will include; conducting a proposed site survey, conducting a sub-watershed modeling analysis, preparing engineering plans and specifications, preparing probable cost estimates, perform monitoring and evaluation on an adjacent sub-watershed, and preparing a formal final summary report on project activities. Specific deliverables for this grant project will include: * A final report summarizing project activities and recommendations. Special conditions for this grant project will include: * The design specifications for the proposed wet detention basin will have to be submitted to the Fisheries Management section of the Department of Natural Resources for review to insure the basin will not become a "fish trap" or otherwise pose a threat to the fishery of Big Butternut Lake. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
