Lakes Planning Report
Grant Awarded
This grant is the third phase in a comprehensive study of the lake and its watershed in order to develop a final comprehensive plan and recommendations for preserving the lake's water quality and resources. This third phase of study will include a septic system evaluation of resident systems on the lake, an onsite review of storm water runoff on individual lots and developing further recommendations for goose management based upon a goose census to be done. The applicants consultant will also be comparing more secchi disk data gathered this coming year to past information and developing a updated TSI for water clarity.
The information derived from the septic system evaluation will be coordinated with the information developed in the Phase 2 planning grant to determine potential problem areas around the lake. Recommendations will be made to reduce stormwater impacts on the lake along with developing a map showing environmentally sensitive areas.
The report findings will be presented at the annual Archibald Lake Association meeting and incorporated in an association newsletter.
