Hydrologic and phosphorus budgets were completed for Birch Island Lake with the purpose of establishing a baseline hydrologic and phosphorus budget, which can be used to evaluate the potential effect of future development on lake water quality.

The Birch Island Lake Association will conduct the second phase of a five phase project to complete a comprehensive lake management plan for Birch Island Lake in Burnett County. Specific deliverables for this grant project include: 1) Annualized Hydrologic Budget, 2) Lake Phosphorus Budget. The project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter(s), public meeting(s), and local newspaper articles.
