GOLDEN SANDS: Petenwell Flowage Water Quality Modeling

Purpose

Golden Sands proposes to conduct water quality modeling on the Petenwell Flowage to identify nutrient loads. Project activities include 1)applying the FLUX, BATHTUB, and PROFILE models, resulting in model outputs and data summaries; 2) determining water and nutrient budgets, resulting in a report; 3) predicting the effects of nutrient reductions on other in-lake environmental variables, resulting in a report; and 4) specifying the total maximum daily loads needed to reach target nutrient levels, resulting in a report. The sponsor will disseminate information to the public about the results of the project by public meeting and summary report mailing. The sponsor will also provide the Department of Natural Resources with a paper copy of the final report. End.
