WATERFORD WATERWAY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Invasive Species in Waterford-Tichigan

Purpose

The WWMD will undertake both a Lake Education Project and an Aquatic Nuisance Species Control Program. The WWMD will purchase exotics species literature for distribution at educational meetings, pontoon classroom days, and area libraries and for mailings to households in the WWMD. The WWMD will also sponsor loosestrife eradication pilot projects and conduct a survey for purple and yellow loosestrife (following protocols established by the Wisconsin Wetlands Association). Project deliverables include: 1) a report on the results of a purple and yellow loosestrife survey; 2) a report on the beetle pilot project and the eradication pilot project; 3) copies of all agendas an/or advertisements for each educational meeting; and 4) a short report recording the education mailings and literature distribution.
