The ultimate goal of the Big Wood Lake Planning Grant Study was to develop a long range planning strategy which would aid the Association and local units of government in managing the lake and its watershed. The specific tasks carried out as part of the study include: 1. Assessment of Big Wood Lake water quality. 2 . Collection of hydrologic data in order to determine the general hydrologic conditions of the Big Wood Lake Watershed. 3. Collection of biological data on Big Wood Lake, focusing primarily on aquatic macrophytes. 4. Assessment of general land use patterns within the direct Big Wood Lake watershed. 5. Distribution and analysis of a property owners survey.
