BIG BUTTERNUT LAKE P & R DISTRICT: Big Butternut Lake Level Analysis & Macrophyte Survey

Purpose

Analyze lake water levels to determine an acceptable level and management strategies for Butternut Creek. Conduct a survey of the lake outlet channel, Butternut Creek. Install a staff gage to monitor lake levels. Develop and distribute a lake waterlevel survey to lakeshore residents. Determine management strategies for long-term control of macrophytes. Perform two lake-wide macrophyte surveys. Perform a controlled experiemtnal treatment of curlyleaf pondweed beds to assess potential long termmanagement strategies. Information will be disseminated to the public by newsletter, public meeting, and local newspaper articles. Project results will be reposited at the Village of Luck City Hall.
