LITTLE GREEN LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB. DIST.: Little Green Lake Phosphorous Load Study

Purpose

The Little Green Lake proposal is for the development of a limited phosphorous budget. These activities will develop the final product which is a P budget report that will quantify P loads from external and internal sources: 1) Review existing lake and watershed data, including discharge data from outlet, 2) Determine watershed P loading using existing watershed inventory data as input into a nutrient delivery model agreed to jointly by DNR and Sponsor, and 3) Apply a lake model to estimate the relative importance of external vs internal loading and lake response to P loading reductions. The DNR will be provided with two paper copies and an electronic copy of the report. The project results will be disseminated to the public by public meetings, press release, summary brochure, newsletter, and a radio spot. Local cost share will be augmented by a donation from the Little Green Association.
