LITTLE GREEN LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB. DIST.: Little Green Lake Water Quality & Sediment Monitoring

Purpose

The Little Green Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to contract with the US Geological Survey to monitor the water quality and lake-bed sediment chemistry of Little Green Lake. The following parameters will be included in the study: 1)Water chemistry 2) Phosphorus 3) Dissolved oxygen, tempurature & PH 4) Clarity (secchi disk readings) 5) Chorophyll 6) Lake levels. An annual report will include lake stage flucations, lake depth profiles, chemical constituents and water quality conditions. A final report will summarize all the years of study. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a papercopy and an electronic copy of the final report. The project results will be disseminated to the general public bynewsletter mailing, public meeting, summary report mailing, local newspaper articles, TV/radio spots and a poster display.
