MINOCQUA AREA LAKES IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION: Minocqua Lake Septic System Study - Phase I

Purpose

The Minocqua Area Lakes Improvement Association proposes to conduct a septic systems survey to determine the impact of systems on surface water. Project activities include determining the current status of septic systems around the lake, determining groundwater flow direction at locations around the lake, investigating septic system impacts on lake water quality, and determining impacts of septic systems on aquatic plants near areas of inflow. Project activities will result in a report on septic system status, map of ground flows into and out of lake, a water quality data summary, and a plant survey data summary. A paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report will be provided to the Department of Natural Resources. Information on the project results will be disseminated to the public by newsletter, fact sheet distribution, public meeting, summary report mailing, local newspaper article, and TV/Radio spot. end.
