LOWER LONG LAKE PROT & REHAB DIST: Long Lake-Watershed Assessment

Purpose

Primary Goal will be to repeat and update the watershed use study of 1984 to determine the nature of changes in the watershed as well as to look at the watershed area using newer technologies that have become available, especially satellite imaging. A secondary goal will be to analyze oxygen data that has been collected over the last 20 years. These data suggests anoxic conditions are progressively getting worse, a finding which would have serious implications for lake water quality and for which some prevention or treatment options to be considered.
