LONG LAKE DISTRICT: Long Lake Comprehensive Study Ph 2

Purpose

Long Lake District proposes to implement Phase 2 of a study that will culminate in the development of a long-term comprehensive lake management plan for Long Lake. Phase 2 will consist of in-lake water testing, groundwater testing, septic system testing, water table investigations, and the development of a lake management plan. Sample results from both Phase 1 and 2 will be used to develop the comprehensive lake management plan. The Department of Natural Resources will be provided with both a paper copy and electronic copy of the final plan. Amendment #1: The Long Lake District proposes to include a county-wide educational outreach task to develop and distribute informational packets to new lake residents concerning lake stewardship. Their final report will include an example of this informational packet and a summary of this outreach effort's activities and outcomes.
