Purpose

The Spider Chain of Lakes Improvement Association will conduct a Eurasian Milfoil inspection and monitoring project on the Spider Chain of Lakes (Spider (Big Spider, Little Spider, and Clear Lake) Lake, Fawn Lake, and North Lake) in Sawyer County. This project involves a complete shoreline inspection of the Spider Lake Chain in 2002, and follow-up searches at specific "susceptible" sites in the next four years. The results of each inspection/search will be published in the association's newsletter, and an on-going citizen awareness and education program on exotic species will be implemented. The DNR will be provided with both a paper copy and an electronic copy of the final report. Information will be disseminated to the public as described in the grant application.
