ENTERPRISE LAKE PROTECTION & REHAB DISTRICT: Eurasian Water Milfoil Eradication/Control

Purpose

The Enterprise Lake PR District will sponsor a project to chemically treat Eurasian water-milfoil during the spring of 2005, with the goal of early eradication. Project updates and EWM educational materials will be given to the riparian owners via a lake district newsletter and trained watercraft inspectors will monitor boat landings during peak weekends and holidays. The district will also install waste buckets for EWM at each of the boat landings. Products: 1) Pioneer beds of Eurasian water-milfoil will be chemically treated in accordance with the Department issued Aquatic Plant Management permit. 2) Pre and post treatment surveys mapping the location and densities EWM will be conducted. 3) District newsletter will be distributed to riparian property owners and DNR. 4) Inspectors will monitor boat landings during peak times and input daily totals from Form 3200-120 of the Clean Boats Clean Waters program, into the WI-DNR website. Diaries will be retained for at least three years. 5) A final report will be made available to the DNR, Oneida and Langlade County Land Conservation Dept., local lake associations, districts, and media.
