BONE LAKE MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Bone Lake Water Quality & Biological Monitoring Project

Purpose

The Bone Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to conduct monitoring to assess and characterize the water quality, phyoplankton and zooplankton community structure, and other related factors on Bone Lake in Polk County. Ongoing project activities will be disseminated via newsletter (s), meeting (s), and final report mailings. Specific conditions for this grant project will include frequency of sampling, parameter lists and methodologies as identified and agreed to in correspondence between the Department and the Limnological Institute. Specific deliverables for this grant project will include: * A report describing the ecological significance and importance of algae and zooplankton populations; * A copy of the quality assurance protocol for the multi-sensor probe; * A final report compiling all information collected during the project activities listed above. Ongoing project activities will be disseminated via newsletter (s), meeting (s), and final report mailings.
