DOOR COUNTY: Ahnapee River/Schmidt Farms

Purpose

To provide 70% c-s for landowner BMP installations

Objective

Address bacteria, nitrates, phosphorus and sediment runoff.

Outcome

Constructed two solid push-in manure storages situated at the end of the existing free stalls and a liquid lagoon designed to store the liquid manure from the existing buildings and a new free stall. In addition, Door County required that leachate from the feed storage bunkers be stored in one of the manure storage units and that nutirient management be implemented.
