Purpose

Crescent Lake Association will conduct a lake/watershed evaluation project and develop a lake management plan. The project includes: 1) water quality sampling (temperature and DO profiles, total phosphorous, and chlorophyll through citizen lake monitoring, nitrates, iron, salts, calcium, and pH) and data analysis 2) aquatic plant survey using point intercept method and development of aquatic plant management (APM) plan following DNR guidelines 3) watershed analysis 4) lakeshore resident survey 5) shoreland assessment 6) development of lake management plan 7) a presentation of study results upon completion of study to Crescent Lake Association, WI DNR and any other interested parties/individuals. Project deliverables include: - Detailed analysis of water quality sampling results and Crescent Lake's TSI - Aquatic plant survey final report with a section on invasive species education and an APM Plan - Two plant voucher specimens for each plant found in aquatic plant survey - one for WI DNR and one for Crescent Lake Association - Recommendations for controlling pollutant loading from watershed analysis - Results and interpretation of lakeshore resident survey and shoreland assessment - Videotape of Crescent Lake shoreland - Crescent Lake Management Plan (LMP) Specific conditions include: -Project design plans, resident survey questions, APM plan, and LMP need review and approval from Lakes Coordinator before project begins and adoption of final management recommendations. -Applicant is required to provide a mid-term project update. DNR Lakes Coordinator will be provided with electronic (pdf) and hard copies of APM plan (2 copies) , Crescent LMP (2 copies), shoreland assessment data form, photos depicting shoreland development (1-5) used in shoreland assessment, shoreland development videotape, raw data in electronic format. Project results will be disseminated to the public via a presentation by Ayres Associates to the Crescent Lake Association.
