LAKE GEORGE LAKE ASSOCIATION: Lake George Environmental Education Project

Purpose

Lake George Association is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Planning project which will focus on preventing the introduction of additional AIS into Lake George and educate lakeshore property owners on shoreland protection. Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a CB/CW program at the public landing from May 6-Sept 10, 2006 2) Deliver suspect AIS to WDNR 3) Install AIS and CB/CW kiosks at private landings 4) Develop informational packets for lake visitors and lake residents 5) Conduct 2 AIS monitoring surveys by boat and shoreline (mid-June & mid-August) 6) Summarize grant activities in newsletter 7) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 onto Dept website by lake association Project deliverables include: - Newsletter article - Completed entry of forms 3200-120 onto Dept website - Informational packets - Final report (contents listed on pg 3 of proposal) Specific conditions for this project: - A minimum of 200 CB/CW inspection hours at public landing is needed - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, copy of newsletter article and samples of informational packets.
