ANVIL LAKE ASSN, INC: Anvil Lake Management Planning: AIS Control Strategy Development

Purpose

Anvil Lake Association is sponsoring an AIS Education, Prevention, & Planning grant to study Anvil Lake in Vilas County. The project will focus on developing an AIS Control Strategy and Plan for EWM and CLP on Anvil Lake. Project activities include: 1) Stakeholder participation \2013 planning meetings (up to 2), kick-off meeting, wrap-up meeting, news release(s), and newsletter article; 2) Fisheries assessment; 3) Shoreline and coarse woody habitat assessment; 4) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, acoustic, community mapping, substrate mapping); 5) Data analysis; 6) Updated LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) News release(s), and newsletter article; 2) PI, shoreland, and coarse woody habitat data; 3) Aquatic plant community and substrate maps; 4) LMP. Specific conditions for this project: Draft of LMP and AIS Control Plan needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, news release(s), newsletter article, and all data and maps from the project.
