Osman/Parsons TMDL

Purpose

The unnamed tributary to Meeme River (Osman Trib) is listed as an impaired water of the state. These data are being collected for evaluation with the Tiered and Aquatic Life Use method currently under development. \0095 Unnamed Tributary (Osman) to Meeme River: entire length is listed as having degraded habitat and dissolved oxygen impairment conditions due to sediment and phosphorus. Based on the NPS Priority Watershed appraisal, the existing use is LFF, and the potential and codified use is WWFF. Unnamed Tributary to Memme River (Osman Trib): The fish community will be assessed at one site in Osman Trib., along with a quantitative habitat and a macroinvertebrate kick sample. Instantaneous water temperature, DO, pH, Conductivity, transparency tube, flow, and grab samples for TP, Diss-P, Nitrate-Nitrite-N, NH3-N, TKN, TSS, chlorophyll a, and turbidity will be collected every two weeks through the end of September 2006 at the downstream-most site. One four-day diel DO survey will be completed during July or August at the downstream site. Parsons Creek: This proposal is to establish a Sediment TMDL for Parson\00A1\00A6s Creek. Monitoring will be conducted from April 2006 through October 2006. At 2 Sites the following monitoring will be conducted: \0084X Fish Survey (IBI) \0084X Grab Samples (TSS, TP, P samples) \0084X Instantaneous Flow with Grab Samples \0084X Temperature \0084X Continuous NH3-N and DO Monitoring with Hydrolab \0084X Macroinvertebrate, Data (already completed spring 2006) At 4 additional sites the following parameters will be monitored: \0084X Grab Samples (TSS, TP, P samples) \0084X Temperature \0084X Continuous NH3-N and DO Monitoring with Hydrolab
