Whitewater SSA Plan (1995)

Purpose

The plan year 2000 Whitewater sanitary sewer service area tributary to the City sewage treatment facility, as set forth in the currently adopted sanitary sewer service area plan as documented in the first edition of this report, is shown on Map 4. This service area totals about 8.3 square miles, or about 29 percent of the total study area of 29.1 square miles and had, in 1990, a resident population of about 12,800 persons, including about 7,000 resident students attending the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Objective

By letter dated June 30, 2003, the City of Whitewater requested that the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission amend the Whitewater sanitary sewer service area tributary to the City of Whitewater sewage treatment facility. That area is currently documented in SEWRPC Community Assistance Planning Report No. 94 (2nd Edition), Sanitary Sewer Service Area for the City of Whitewater, Walworth County, Wisconsin, dated March 1995. The basic purpose of this amendment would be to include within the planned Whitewater sewer service area certain lands located immediately adjacent to, but outside of, the currently adopted sewer service area, and also to remove lands from that sewer service area.
