Purpose

UPDATED SCOPE: The Town of Wolf River, on behalf of the Lake Poygan Sportsmen\2019s Club, proposes to control curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) and Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment and preventative measures in Page\2019s Slough during the period 2007 - 2010. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Town of Wolf River\2019s Aquatic Invasive Species Control Grant Application, dated August 1, 2006. The project includes conducting annual pre-treatment point-intercept aquatic plant surveys and post-treatment surveys to monitor the extent of CLP and EWM and efficacy of the previous year\2019s treatment; treating CLP and EWM infested areas with aquatic herbicides; planting wild rice along the cattail fringe in the northern half of the slough; conducting education and prevention activities to prevent re-infestation, including placing signage at the carp barrier and nearby boat landings. Annual progress reports and a final report summarizing the three-year project will be provided to DNR. If consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR will be provided both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee\2019s final payment request. If watercraft inspection is conducted as part of the project then those records will be entered into the State\2019s online Watercraft Inspection Database. Any publications produced as part of the project will incorporate the \201CStop Aquatic Hitchhikers!\201D\2122 brand.
