CITY OF PORTAGE: Silver Lake APM Plan Development

Purpose

Scope: A plant survey has already been conducted on the 2 basins of Silver Lake. This grant is to create an organized and publicly supported APM plan by doing a public use survey to assess the perceived problems with the lake, write a plan for management of the lake and an educational plan, make monitoring recommendations and recommendations for watershed improvement. Deliverables: An APM plan that meets the criteria outlined in the DNR Guidance, using the plan checklist for comparison; documentation of the routes of public input that were used, a copy of the public use survey, all raw data from this survey, and a summary of how the survey results were used to craft the final plan; a complete summary of management history with references; the plan will end with recommendations as listed on page 5 of the application (Paragraph 1), including a detailed description of the importance of each water quality parameter that is recommended for collection. The final plan will be presented at a lake association meeting. In addition, see ranking questions A2, A5, A6, B2, E1, and E3, which also describe deliverables.
