Friends of the Branch River (FOBR) helps Lincoln High School student complete community service requirement. The project consisted of a trash clean-up at all the bridge crossings on the Branch River.

WD, LNRP and LISMA will co-host training at Woodland Dunes Nature Center on invasive species for watershed partners. Partners will participate in a workshops designed to build capacity for long-term monitoring of invasive species that will build adaptive management plans by watershed.

Friends of the Branch River would like to invite you to our next public family event to be held Sunday, April 23rd @ 12:30 pm at the Manitowoc Public Library! The Fox Valley Herp Club will do a short presentation on reptiles and then the fun starts with lots of hands-on interaction with many snakes, turtles, and other reptiles big and small!

Thank you to all who came out to our Invasives removal/garbage pickup afternoon in the Branch River on July 25! Numerous large pieces of scrap metal, numerous glass bottles, and other garbage items were dug out of the river.

We had a great time June 10 at the beautiful Dodge Preserve. Dan Fager did an excellent talk about camping cooking, packing, survival, and also served up some great campfire lunch fare! We had naturalist-led tours, river exploration and catching crayfish, frogs, fish etc!

Lakeshore Natural Resources Partnership (LNRP) is sponsoring a project to continue to support the Friends of the Branch River Watershed Project final deliverables include: all data collected, agendas and minutes for planning meetings, presentations, newsletters and educational materials provided to the public. Specific project activities include: 1) Holding river clean-up event; 2) Conducting a Project RED event; 3) Hosting volunteer Restore the Shore work day events; 4) Mapping invasive species in the Branch River utilizing the AIS bridge Snapshot day protocols; 5) Hosting several Getting People to the River events; 6) Hosting at least three educational seminars.
