DEER LAKE DISTRICT: Deer Lake EWM Monitoring

Purpose

The Deer Lake District is sponsoring a Aquatic Invasive Species project to continue Eurasian Water Milfoil (EWM) monitoring (2016-2018) and to increase stakeholder participation and involvement. Project final deliverables include: 1) Results of professional surveys (early season AIS survey and EWM peak biomass survey); 2) Recommendations for following year control strategies (Hand pulling or DASH implementation); 3) Results of promoting stakeholder participation and involvement. Specific project activities include: 1)Complete early season AIS and EWM peak biomass surveys; 2) Coordinate annual hand-harvesting and EWM population monitoring; 3) Increase stakeholder participation, awareness and involvement; 4) Overall project evaluation. Specific conditions for this Project: The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) will be provided electronic and hard copies of all data and or reports/plans generated as a result of this project.
