GOLDEN LAKE ASSOCIATION, INC: Golden Lake Association, Inc. 2016-2017 AIS Grant

Purpose

The Golden Lake Association is sponsoring an integrated pest management project on Golden Lake. Project deliverables: 2017 full point intercept (P/I) plant survey results; summary of 2016 & 2017 hand pulling efforts, summary of 2016 & 2017 DASH harvesting; late summer 2016 littoral survey results; final report evaluating the effectiveness of hand pulling, DASH, chemical treatment (not funded); discussion of goals in the 2015 APM plan; copies of permits, and data entry into SWIMS. Project activities:1)Conduct DASH harvesting in 2016 & 2017(approx. 2 acres/yr); 2)Conduct a full P/I survey in summer 2017; 3)Conduct hand removal efforts in 2016 & 2017; 4)Conduct a littoral zone survey in late summer 2016; 5)Generate a final report. Special Conditions:1)All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database; 2)Volunteer and equipment use lists and signatures shall be maintained for reporting in kind volunteer labor and equipment. 3)Final report to analyze the 2017 data and include distribution and density maps for hybrid/Eurasian water milfoil, curly leaf pondweed, and the top 7 native plant species. Final report to also include a table listing the species found in the lake in all years surveyed, including historical data, frequency of occurrence and relative density. Final report to evaluate the effectiveness of the integrated pest management project. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
