FOREST COUNTY: Little Rice Lake Comprehensive Lake Mgt Plan

Purpose

Forest County is sponsoring a LPL grant to study Little Rice Lake, in Forest County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP). Project activities include: 1) Citizen participation \2013 stakeholder survey and planning meetings (4); 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Watershed assessment; 4) Shoreland and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment; 5) Collect and synthesize existing lake data; 6) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping and substrate mapping); 7) Data analysis; 8) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Watershed maps and modeling data; 4) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data; 5) Aquatic plant community; 6) Aquatic plant vouchers; 7) LMP. Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs Dept review and approval; 2) Water quality sampling needs to be coordinated with WDNR Forest County Fisheries Biologist; 3) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, stakeholder survey, data from PI survey, shoreland assessment, woody habitat assessment, watershed assessment and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
