Buckatabon Lakes Association is sponsoring a LPL grant to study Upper and Lower Buckatabon Lakes, in Vilas County. The project will focus on updating a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for both lakes. Project activities include: 1) Citizen participation \2013 stakeholder survey and planning meetings (2-4); 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Watershed assessment; 4) Shoreland and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment; 5) Collect and synthesize existing lake data; 6) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping and substrate mapping); 7) Data analysis; 8) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Watershed maps and modeling data; 4) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data; 5) Aquatic plant community and AIS maps; 6) Aquatic plant vouchers; 7) LMP.
