LITTLE SPIDER LAKE ASSOCIATION: Little Spider Lake EWM EDR Project (2017 - 2019)

Purpose
Little Spider Lake Association is sponsoring an early detection/response project which will focus on surveying, mapping and hand-pulling the new discovery of EWM in Little Spider Lake, Vilas County. Project activities include: 1) Conduct annual early-season AIS and peak-biomass surveys; 2) Volunteer AIS monitoring and hand removal; 3) Professional EWM removal; 4) Purchase GPS; 5) Develop annual maps and letter report. Project deliverables include: 1) EWM and PI survey data and maps; 2) GPS; 3) Annual letter report describing the findings of the early-season survey, peak-biomass survey, hand-pulling efforts, and guidance for continued control actions. Specific conditions for this project: Annual letter report needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of letter reports, all maps, and all aquatic plant and GIS data.
