Purpose
Crescent Lake Association is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Planning grant to study Crescent Lake, in Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP).
Project activities include: 1) Citizen participation \2013 lake user survey, charrette and planning meetings (6); 2) Water quality sampling and analysis and watershed assessment; 3) AIS outreach and education; 4) Conduct annual early-season AIS and mid/late season AIS surveys; 5) Conduct volunteer AIS surveillance monitoring; 6) Shoreland and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment; 7) Collect and synthesize existing lake data; 8) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping, substrate mapping); 9) Data analysis; 10) Develop LMP.
Project deliverables include: 1) Stakeholder survey and charrette; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) Watershed maps and modeling data; 4) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data; 5) Aquatic plant community and AIS maps; 6) Aquatic plant vouchers; 7) LMP.
Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey and charrette needs Dept review and approval; 2) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval.
WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, stakeholder survey, charrette information, data from PI survey, shoreland assessment, woody habitat assessment, watershed assessment and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
