MONTELLO LAKE P&R DISTRICT: Montello Lake Aquatic Plant Management Plan Update

Purpose

The Montello Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District is sponsoring a project to develop an Aquatic Plant Management Plan for Montello Lake, Marquette County. Project final deliverables include: all data collected, agendas and minutes for planning meetings, and an APM plan that includes methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with an implementation plan based on integrated management principles. The work needs to be completed in close coordination with the area DNR Lake Coordinator. Specific project activities include: 1) Bathymetry development and analysis, 2) Trend comparison of all plant point intercept data, 3) Floating and emergent plant mapping; 4) Conduct sociologic survey; 5) Public meetings, 6) evaluate the results of past drawdown efforts and 7) Development of APM plan with specific short and long range management goals that are both tangible and realistic and 8) Obtain DNR approval for APM plan. Special Conditions: 1) All data shall be entered into the SWIMS database; 2) Draft sociological/user surveys must be reviewed and approved by the Department before being initiated. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. Consultant final report: it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
