POST LAKES P & R DISTRICT: Post Lakes Comprehensive Lake Management Plan Update

Purpose

Post Lakes P&R District is sponsoring a LPL grant to study Upper and Lower Post Lakes, in Langlade and Oneida County. The project will focus on developing a Lake Management Plan (LMP). Project activities include: 1) Citizen participation \2013 lake user survey and planning meetings (4); 2) Water quality sampling and analysis; 3) Fishery review and septic system survey; 4) Shoreland and Coarse Woody Habitat assessment; 5) Collect and synthesize existing lake data;6) Aquatic plant surveys (PI survey, community mapping and substrate mapping); 7) Data analysis; 8) Develop LMP. Project deliverables include: 1) Lake user survey; 2) Water chemistry data; 3) PI, shoreland and woody habitat data; 4) Aquatic plant community; 5) Aquatic plant vouchers; 6) LMP. Specific conditions for this project: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey needs Dept review and approval; 2) Draft of LMP needs Dept review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of LMP, lake user survey, data from PI survey, shoreland assessment, woody habitat assessment, and water quality sampling, all maps from project, all GIS data, and aquatic plant vouchers.
