PICKEREL CHAIN LAKES ASSOCIATION: LMI - Smoke Lake Aeration Implementation Project

Purpose

The Pickerel Chain Association proposes to install an aerator in Smoke Lake. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Pickerel Lake\2019s Protection Grant application, dated January 29, 2018. This activity will install and maintain an aeration system in Smoke Lake. PCLA members will install the aeration system in the winter of 2018/2019. Education and public outreach, including correspondence by letter, email, newsletter, articles in the local newspapers, kiosk postings at the boat landing, and a caution/warning signing at public access points will inform and educate the public about the project. Dissolved Oxygen levels in Smoke Lake will be monitored using the PCLA\2019s DO meter. The results will be documented, including entering the DO and temperature data into the WDNR SWIMS database, communicated with PCLA members through quarterly newsletters and at their annual spring and fall membership meetings, and in a project report. Water quality monitoring will also be conducted as part of the CLMN program. If consultant is to provide the final report, it is recommended that the Grantee provide the DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR will be provided both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee\2019s final payment request. All information associated with this project is subject to public record.
