TOWN OF WASHINGTON: Eagle Lake AIS Navy Project

Purpose

The Town of Washington is sponsoring an Aquatic Invasive Species Education, Prevention & Planning grant to be completed by June 30, 2008. The project will focus on AIS education, prevention and monitoring. Project activities include: 1) Recruit volunteers and implement a Clean Boat/Clean Water program at Eagle Lake 2) Hire an AIS coordinator 3) Conduct AIS citizen lake monitoring following Dept/UW Ext guidelines 4) Entry of inspection forms 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website 5) Host a plant/animal identification day 6) Build a portable lake map display Project deliverables include: 1) Completed entry of inspection 3200-120 and monitoring forms onto Dept website 2) AIS coordinator position description 3) Portable lake map display 4) Final report summarizing CB/CW activities, AIS monitoring, and the plant/animal identification day Specific Conditions for this project: - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, AIS coordinator position description and photograph of portable lake map display.
