TOMAHAWK LAKE ASSOCIATION: Lk. Tomahawk Lk. Management Plan Survey Additional Waterbodies

Purpose

Tomahawk Lake Property Owners Association is sponsoring a small scale lake planning grant to study waterbodies connected to Lake Tomahawk in Oneida County with a study completion date of December 31, 2008. The project will focus on completing point-intercept aquatic plant surveys for the waterbodies and incorporating the results into a Lake Management Plan (LMP) for Lake Tomahawk. Completion of a LMP will allow for potential Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) cost sharing grants and permits for Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) control. Project activities include: 1) Point-intercept aquatic plant surveys with 2 sets of pressed aquatic plants from Mud Lake, Inkwell Lake, Paddle Pond, and the Tomahawk Narrows up to bridge 2) Little Lake Tomahawk was sampled by WDNR in 2005 and the data will be incorporated into LMP 3) Water quality sampling (Secchi only during aquatic plant survey) Project deliverables include: 1) Point-intercept aquatic plant data and 2 sets of pressed aquatic plants from each lake sampled 2) Final report summarizing aquatic plant survey and secchi disc results Specific conditions for this project: - Final report needs Dept review and approval WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) and hard copy of final report, point-intercept plant data and a set of pressed aquatic plants from each lake sampled.
