LAKE RIPLEY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT: Lake Ripley Comprehensive Management Plan Update

Purpose

Lake Ripley Comprehensive Management Plan Update Lake Ripley Management District is sponsoring a project to get started on an update to their 2009 Lake Improvement Plan with the following goals: Compile past information and studies in preparation for an upcoming lake plan update, collect lake water quality data, monitor the inlet stream, complete watershed planning, conduct a public opinion survey, and educate the public through newsletter updates and public meetings throughout the grant. Project deliverables include all raw data collected entered into SWIMs database, a list of past studies to be considered in development of an updated plan, development, pre-testing and distribution of a public opinion survey; final report will include the articles published in newsletter and documentation of public meetings. Specific project conditions: A draft of the final report including appendices, in .pdf format, should be submitted for department comment prior to finalization; the public opinion survey must be reviewed and approved by the department before it is distributed. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. DNR to receive an electronic .pdf copy of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.

The 10-year Lake Management Plan is the main deliverable for this grant. The plan was approved by our regional lakes biologist, Arthur Watkinson, on December 8, 2021.
