Purpose

AMENDED SCOPE: The Crooked Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District proposes to control Eurasian water-milfoil (EWM) through chemical treatment and preventative measures in Crooked, Bass, and Gilkey lakes during the period 2007 - 2012. The project elements and deliverables are specified in the Crooked Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District's Aquatic invasive Species Control Grant Application, dated July 28, 2007. The project includes; hiring an aquatic plant management company to conduct annual pre-treatment and post-treatment surveys, according to the WDNR established guidelines, to monitor the extent of Eurasian Water Milfoil and efficacy of treatments; updating the Aquatic Plant Management Plan; treating Eurasian Water Milfoil with aquatic herbicides; implementing a volunteer aquatic plant monitoring program; continue the "clean boats clean water" program. Watercraft inspection records will be entered into the State's online Watercraft Inspection Database. Three annual progress reports and a final report summarizing the four-year project will be provided to DNR. The grantee will provide the DNR Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to requesting final reimbursement. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to, submission of grantee's final payment request.
