TWIN LAKES CONSERVANCY INC: Twin Lakes Management Plan

Purpose

Twin Lakes Conservancy, Inc is sponsoring an LPL grant project to create a comprehensive lake management plan. Specific project activities include: 1) Gather water quality data; 2) Assess watershed and analyze land-use and phosphorus loading using WiLMs model; 3) Fisheries data compilation and integration; 4) WDNR Shoreland and coarse woody habitat condition; 5) Assessment of aquatic plant community using the point-intercept survey; 6) early season AIS plant surveys; 7) Completion of stakeholders survey; 8) Public participation in the planning process; 9) Educational program including meetings, newsletter articles & press releases; 10) Creation of a lake management plan that includes an implementation strategy. Project final deliverables include: 1) All data collected, aquatic animal reports, stakeholder survey report; 2) Agendas and minutes for planning meetings; 3) Aquatic plant vouchers for new species; 4) Updated lake management plan that includes methodologies, results, and management alternatives discussion with an implementation schedule. Specific conditions: 1) Draft of stakeholder survey must be submitted to DNR for review and approval before sending to public; 2) Data and reports shall be provided in an electronic format; 3) This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein; Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps, and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lake Biologist. 4) It is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft of the final report for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. 5) Grantee shall submit electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
