WATERWAYS ASSOC. MENOMINEE & SHAWANO CTY: Big Lake Aquatic Plant Mgmt Plan & EWM Control Strategy

Purpose

The Waterways Association of Menominee and Shawano County\2019s (WAMSCO) is sponsoring a project on behalf of Big Lake to complete an Aquatic Plant Management Plan with the following goals: 1) Determine lake plant community diversity; 2) Collect herbicide samples post treatment 3) Conduct hybrid milfoil sampling 4) Conduct shoreline and woody habitat surveys. Project deliverables include: A management plan that includes all of the necessary NR specific items. 1) Aquatic plant communities; 2) Aquatic plant issues/concerns; 3) Historical lake management; 4) Shoreland habitat and buffer restoration/preservation recommendations; 5) Monitoring and evaluation \2013 who, what, when and where; 6) Public education Specific project conditions: 1) Lakewide aquatic plant point Intercept surveys shall be conducted according to WDNR\2019s \201CRecommended Baseline Monitoring of Aquatic Plants in WI Protocol\201D. 2) Shoreline and Woody habitat surveys shall be conducted according to WDNR\2019s shoreline and woody habitat protocol. 3) WDNR will review the draft of the Lake Management Plan 4) WDNR will be provided electronic and hard copies of data and reports/plans generated as a result of this project. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
