CITY OF MADISON: Hydrodynamic Modeling-Monona Bay

Purpose

The City of Madison will examine retention time and circulation patterns within Lake Monona and Monona Bay in Dane County. The overall objective is to develop a hydrodynamic model to be used as a tool to assess future designs and improvements to Monona Bay. This project is critical to address the water quality issues within the bay, and was recommended by the WRM study of the Bay. The following project deliverables are expected: 1) data compilation to create an accurate and representative model; 2) model set-up; 3) Model calibration with additional field data measurements.
