CITY OF WHITEWATER: Cravath & Tripp Lake Mgnt Plan

Purpose

The City of Whitewater will hire contractors to conduct a community survey and develop a lake management plan for Tripp and Cravath Lakes. The final report will contain the following elements:1)Compile and synthesize inventory data on the watershed and tributary to lake using existing water quality data. 2)Water quality evaluation and studies to include field and site specific inspections, on-going self help monitoring review and refine land cover and pollutant loading, recreational use survey, shoreline condition survey, refinement of the environmental corridors in the watershed and assessing the extent of watershed protection need and environmental sensitivity. 3)Conduct a community water quality survey, recreational use and economic impact on the lakes, using questionnaire survey 4)Review water quality and use survey to set objectives and future protection and rehabilitation measures. 5)Results of WILMS and UAL modeling 6)Results of recreational use and shoreline condition surveys 7)Determine alternative responses, identify management options with vary levels of intervention, to include development, water quality, water uses, public concerns and maintenance of plant & animal community and organizational options to have the best chance of succeeding. 8)Identify future community informational needs 9)Minutes from two public meetings regarding lake management planning issues Two paper copies and one electronic copy of the final plan will be provided to the department.
