NAMAKAGON LAKE ASSOCIATION, INC.: Lake Namakagon AIS Education, Prevention & Investigation Project

Purpose

The Namakagon Lake Association is sponsoring an AIS prevention & education project including a boat inspection program at the public landing; educating boaters about AIS & prevention; monthly aquatic sampling for invasive aquatic plants; construction of AIS displays at boat landings around the lake; one youth environmental awareness day & one adult environmental awareness day. Consultant will perform three aquatic plant samplings. Deliverables include a paper and electronic copy of a final report summarizing project accomplishments and including: 1) Watercraft inspection report including time and number of people reached; CB/CW survey results; daily results will be entered into the CB/CW database. 2) Report on construction/maintenance of informational displays. 3) Report on the environmental awareness days including agenda and number of attendees. 4) Report on aquatic sampling AIS results and monitoring observations of any detected aquatic invasive species with appropriate maps. 5) AIS related materials generated or paid for by this grant. Special conditions for this project: The project sponsor shall immediately contact proper DNR authorities in the event in the event of a new aquatic invasive species infestation. This scope summarizes the scope provided in the grant application and does not supersede the application specifics. Data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, must be submitted to the Department in a format specified by the Lake Coordinator. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic copies of the final report.
