TREGO LAKE DISTRICT: Trego Lake AIS Rapid Response

Purpose

Trego Lake Association is sponsoring a project to monitor and manage a pioneering population of Eurasian watermilfoil and established population of Curley leaf Pondweed in Trego Lake Project activities include: 1) Point-intercept survey(s), map and collection of species samples following guidelines provided by the Department; 2) Meandering surveys conducted twice annually to locate and remove EWM; 3) Chemical treatment of large populations of AIS if determined to be an effective method and will follow DNR protocol. 4) Education and outreach for landowners and recreational users. Project deliverables include: Report addressing an action plan of AIS, and shoreline weed issues, results of meandering survey used to develop future plan to combat spread of AIS, chemical treatment if applicable will be used in aquatic plant management plans, and increased awareness of AIS for landowners and recreational users Specific project conditions: The specific objectives, metrics, and deliverables for the listed activities are included in the application and supporting materials, and this scope is not intended to replace or supersede those documents. If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
