CRESCENT LAKE ASSOCIATION: Crescent LakeAIS Prevention & Control Project

Purpose

Porject Scope The Crescent Lake Association is sponsoring an Early Detection & Response grant with a project to focus on controlling and evaluating the management of Eurasian Watermilfoil (EWM) in Crescent Lake, Oneida County. Project activities include: Project activities include: 1) Conduct pre-treatment bathymetry and EWM mapping; 2) Conduct pre-post point-intercept (PI) surveys of large treatment areas and bed mapping of smaller treatment areas; 3) Control EWM by volunteer and professional hand-removal and DASH, and herbicide treatments; 4) Promote AIS prevention awareness and support good stewardship of Crescent Lake; and 5) Develop annual and end of project reports. Project deliverables include: Project deliverables include: 1) Aquatic plant and bathymetric survey data and maps; 2) An annual summary of outreach efforts; 3) Annual reports and final report describing the findings of the EWM surveys, EWM management efforts, and guidance for continued control actions. Specific conditions for this project: Annual reports and final report need Department review and approval. WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) copy of reports, all maps, and all aquatic plant and any GIS data. Specific project conditions: If consultant is to provide final report, it is recommended that Grantee provide DNR Lake Coordinator with a draft for comment on report adequacy prior to making final payment to the consultant. DNR to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
