RICE LAKE ASSOCIATION: Pike Lake - Curly Leaf Pondweed Project

Purpose

Project Scope: The Rice Lake Association Inc. is sponsoring an AIRR grant to be completed by Dec 31, 2022. The project will focus on assessing populations and hand-pulling the influx of curly-leaf pondweed in Pike Lake and Turtle River. Project activities include: 1. Pre/Post treatment mapping 2. Full Point-Intercept surveys 3. AIS and coarse woody habitat surveys 4. Complete annual AIS Monitoring and Control Strategy Report 5. Hand harvest of curly-leaf pondweed (CLP) Project deliverables include: 1. Final report describing findings from all surveys 2. Point intercept survey data from 2020 and 2022 3. GPS locations of CLP with updated maps Specific conditions for this project: 1. Annual/final reports need Dept review and approval 2. All surveys must follow DNR protocols WDNR Lakes Management Coordinator will be provided with an electronic (pdf or word) of final report, Aquatic plant survey data, GPS data and maps.
