FOREST COUNTY LAND CONSERVATION COMMITTEE: RES - Forest County Highway W Culvert Project

Purpose

Project Scope and Description of Deliverables Forest County Conservation Department is sponsoring a project to replace an undersized and somewhat perched culvert at the County Highway W - Swamp Creek crossing with a structure that is conducive to aquatic organism passage. Project activities include 1) Design a new road stream crossing structure that will reconnect habitat for trout and other aquatic organisms; 2) Remove and replace the County Highway W culvert; 3) Conduct the Great Lakes Road Stream Crossing Inventory Assessment after construction to evaluate the new culvert for fish passage, velocity, flow, and bed composition; and 4) Summarize the project in a final report. Project deliverables include: a final report that includes final designs, assessment information, and pre/post site photos. Specific project conditions: 1) All necessary permits shall be obtained prior to commencing work; and 2) Final project designs must be approved by DNR Transportation Liaison before construction begins. This scope summarizes the project detail provided in the application and does not negate tasks/deliverables described therein. The grant sponsor shall submit all data, records, and reports, including GIS-based maps and digital images, to the Department in a format specified by the regional Lakes Biologist. DNR is to receive both paper and electronic .pdf copies of the final report along with, or prior to submission of grantee's final payment request.
